Filming and Photography
The Almaty Museum of Arts offers a range of unique interior and exterior locations for filming and photography. Whether you are planning a film shoot, TV production, or photo session, our spaces provide a stunning backdrop for your project.
All photoshoots and filming sessions must be pre-authorised and coordinated with our Filming Manager. The museum also has parking spaces, which can be reserved in advance.
Our rates are based on the size of the crew and are charged hourly for the entire time spent on-site, including set-up and de-rig. Please consider this when planning your schedule.

For access to these images, or for any other inquiries, please contact our Image Licensing Department. It oversees permissions for the reproduction of digital photographs across a variety of contexts, including (but not limited to) publications, exhibitions, lectures, websites, merchandise, products, TV programs, and films. Private Guided Tours
Our guided tours are led by expert guides and offer an in-depth exploration of both the artworks on display and the stunning architecture of the Almaty Museum of Arts. Tours typically last 60-90 minutes and can be tailored to accommodate different dates and group sizes.
We also offer dedicated family and children’s tours, which include engaging activities throughout the visit, making the experience fun and educational for all ages.
Subject to availability, tours are available in multiple languages.
Please note that the price of the guided tour does not include museum admission tickets.
Morning Private Tours. Experience the galleries in a serene setting, before they open to the public. These exclusive tours can focus on the museum's permanent collection and architecture or a special temporary exhibition.
Duration: 60 minutes \ Suitable for groups of up to 25 people \ Includes Museum admission.
Gift Tours. A unique and memorable way to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and more. These tours offer an intimate experience, guided by a knowledgeable art historian.
Duration: 60 minutes \ Suitable for groups of up to 10 visitors \ Includes Museum admission.
Gift Tours can be scheduled during public or private hours, with rates varying accordingly. Each gift tour certificate comes beautifully packaged, perfect for presenting as a thoughtful gift.
School programs
Coming to Almaty Museum of Arts gives students an opportunity to spend time with our collection of art, develop close-looking and critical thinking skills, and make connections to their own lives.
During a guided visit, students will explore three to four works of art in depth through observation and discussion. These are interactive experiences in which students engage in conversation and may write, draw, or do small group work in the galleries. Before your visit, our learning specialist will contact you to discuss your goals and incorporate feedback into the planning of your visit.
The Almaty Museum of Arts is an inclusive space where everyone is welcome. We are committed to supporting students with learning challenges, offering them opportunities for self-expression through various verbal and nonverbal communication methods. Our goal is to create an environment where all students feel seen, heard, and appreciated, empowering them to build confidence and a sense of community.
Museum visit length: Kindergarten–3rd grade: 60 minutes \ 4th–12th grade: 75 minutes.
